includuThe Jean Monnet Chair in European Policies for Education, Training, Research and Innovation and the Educational Policy, Research, Development and Inter-university Cooperation Laboratory completed the organization of the training actions "IncludU" on raising young people's European values for an open and democratic Europe within the framework of the European program Erasmus + - Jean Monnet 'Include European Union Values' (2016-2018). At the heart of the program were the founding values of the European Union, such as respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, human rights and equality for all people in Europe.

The Jean Monnet Chair for European Policies in Education, Training, Research and Innovation and the Laboratory of Educational Policy, Research, Development and Inter-university Cooperation, participated in the scientific conference on "Erdogan's Turkey. Strategic Objectives for Regional Reforms" organized by the Turkish and Eurasian Studies Laboratory. In particular, Dr. Fotini Asderaki participated in the debate on "Strategic rearrangements in the Middle East and Turkey after the referendum".

Within the frames of information about the Erasmus + EU programs for education, training, youth and sport for 2014-2020, the University of Piraeus Department of undergraduates of International and European Studies had the opportunity to learn about the Erasmus Mundus, a European cooperation and mobility program aimed at improving the quality of European higher education and to promote dialogue and understanding between peoples and cultures through cooperation with third countries.

1The Jean Monnet Chair for European Policies in Education, Training, Research and Innovation organized a two-day seminar on Thursday 27th and Friday 28th April on "What place of the state in global governance?" and "The EU and the crisis of the state" respectively, for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Department of International and European Studies. Guest speaker was Mr. Pierre Vercauteren, Professor at the School of Economics, Social, Political and Communication Sciences, Catholic University of Louvain.
