theworldindisarrayThe Jean Monnet Chair for the European Union's Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies participated in the International Conference "The World In Disarray" that was organised by the East Mediterranean and Middle East Laboratory, the Postgraduate Department on International and European Studies and the Postgraduate Studies Program on Energy, Strategy, Law and Economics of the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, G. Kranidiotis Amphitheater.

Dr. Foteini Asderaki chaired the "New Regionalism and the Eastern Mediterranean" panel, which analyzed the consequences of shifting alliances in the Eastern Mediterranean, the security issue of Turkey, the transition to a multipolar international system on the new East Mediterranean region and the security implications for Europe according to Systematic Geopolitical Analysis through the current immigration crisis.

mobility 2The Jean Monnet Chair for the European Union's Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies and the Educational Policy, Research, Development and Interuniversity Co-operation Laboratory of the University of Piraeus presented, for the second consecutive year, their actions under the Mobility Fair 2017, a one-day event which aimed to promote youth mobility programs like Erasmus +, for abroad studies and internships, scholarships, summer schools, volunteering, research programs and other relevant activities.

The briefing included information material on the Chair actions, the European programs it runs, the open lesson and free seminars offered and the way to participate in the International Conference "Studying, Teaching, Learning about the European Union" organised by the chair on 1-3 September in order to encourage research and constructive dialogue for the promotion of European Studies at all levels of education and lifelong learning.

Simultaneously, talks were held on the actions and opportunities offered to undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students to travel abroad.

icib2017bThe Jean Monnet Chair for EU Education Policies, Training, Research and Innovation and the Laboratory of Educational Policy, Research and Development and Inter University of Piraeus Cooperation, participated in the 8th International Conference on International Entrepreneurship - ICIB 2017 organized by the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence of the University of Macedonia on 19-21 May 2017 with topics related to investment policies in the EU and the Juncker investment Program, the EU Financial Association and the European Banking Association.

Dr. Foteini Asderaki, presided over the session with Education as the main topic and speeches touched upon the role of education in peacebuilding, the language skills, labor and entrepreneurship, the skill development through the Strategic School Partnerships Erasmus + and the absorption of higher Education graduates in the labor market through the comparison of Greece with the European Union.
