EP1The first year students of the department of International and European Studies visited the Information Office of the European Parliament in Greece in the framework of the course “International and European Institutions”.

epamb2016The Jean Monnet Chair on European Union’s Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies (EduTRIP) attended the event for the participation of teachers and students of the Secondary Education Schools from the Attica region that successfully participated in the pilot project in 2016 "European Parliament School Ambassadors".

The aim is to develop dialogue and raise pupils' awareness of the values of parliamentary democracy and the role of the European Parliament. The award was held under the Sakharov Prize 2016 event on Thursday 22 December and was organized by the Information Office of the European Parliament in Greece with the support of the Representation Office of European Commission in Greece.

The Jean Monnet Chair on European Union’s Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies (EduTRIP), as representative of Greece at the International Bureau of Education UNESCO, was present on Monday 12 December at the Prize Ceremony of Primary Education Teachers of Border Regions, at National Kapodistrian University of Athens.

Prizes addressed primary school teachers and focus their services on border regions over the three-year period.

The inclusions of UNESCO’s priorities, as well as the interconnection of their educational project with the needs of the local community, have been taken into account in the evaluation of the candidates.

parl vouliOn the 24th of November 2016, Dr. Foteini Asderaki participated at the Special Standing Committee on European Affairs and the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs of the Greek Parliament. On the agenda that day was the work of Jean Monnet Chairs at the Greek Universities.

The Jean Monnet projecthas been implemented by the Laboratory of Education Policy, Research, Development and Interuniversity Cooperation (ERDIC) of the department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus.
