On April 4-5, 2019 a managerial meeting and a final conference were conducted at the University of Cyprus in the context of the Erasmus ΚΑ2 East Med program, under the title: “The EU and the Eastern Mediterranean: Prospects and Challenges” with the participation of four regional Universities (University of Piraeus, Ca’Foscari University-Italy, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev-Israel, and the University of Cyprus). Professor Aristotle Tziampiris, Chair of the Department of International and European Studies and the academic coordinator of the programme analysed the challenges for the South East Mediterranean region both for EU and the consortium countries. Foteini Asderaki, Associate Professor and Jean Monnet Chair on European Union’s Education, Training, Research and Innovation Policies delivered a lecture on: “Youth in the South East Mediterranean Region: Opportunities and Challenges”.
